Raymond Nurse Obituary
Raymond E. Nurse was born to the late Rose E. and Sherwin Nurse, Sr. on May 8, 1944 in Akron, Ohio. He departed his earthly home on April 11, 2015. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vickie Nurse and grandson, JaQuare "Toot" Mashawn Jackson.
He leaves to mourn, his best friend of 50 years, wife of 15 years, Lorna Nurse; sons, Darrell and Tracy (Diana) Pruiett; daughters, Darla Jackson and Christina Chavis-Nurse; brothers, Sherwin (Sandra) Nurse, Jr. of Fayetteville, Ga., Edward (Toni) Nurse of Detroit, Michigan and Emmitt (Rhonda) Bush of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Cheryl and Bennie Nurse of Akron, Ohio; special friend, Carl Head of North Carolina; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Special Thanks to Dr. Joseph F. Pietrolungo and the staff of Falls Village Nursing Home.
Homegoing service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 12 noon at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., Akron, Ohio 44306. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences can be sent to 991 Collinwood Ave., Akron, Ohio 44310.

I worked with Mr. Ray at Calico and we had such a good time.He was also our Union President.I asked about him often after he retired.I want to offer my condolences to his entire family.He will be truly missed.

IN 1992 I WAS HIRED AS A SCHOOL BUS DRIVER FOR THE HEAD START PROGRAM, AND I BROKE IN WITH MR RAY, AS SOMEONE WHO DROVE TRACTOR TRAILORS, MR RAY TAUGHT ME A LOT ABOUT DRIVING A SCHOOL BUS, WE BECAME VERY GOOD FRIENDS, ILL NEVER FORGET ALL THE GOOD TIMES WE HAD ALL THE WAY TILL THE DAY HE RETIRED, EVEN THOUGH IM FEELING A LITTLE SAD, I CAN STILL SMILE WITH ALL OF THE GOOD MEMORIES I HAVE WITH RAY,I LOVE YOU AND ILL MISS YOU, GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND.
