Clement Nurse Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Dec. 6, 2025.
Clement Prince "Black Nurse" Nurse, 77, lifelong resident of Hartford, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
Clement was born in Hartford, son of the late Clement and Louise (Shubrick) Nurse, attended Thomas Snell Weaver High School and received his General Education Development diploma from Urban League of Greater Hartford Street Academy. He was employed as a Sprinkler Fitter for Union Local 676 and retired after many years of service.
Clement was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved to listen to jazz music, watch sports, shoot dice, joke, and spread laughter as well as give knowledge. Those who knew "Black Nurse" knew him for his style, his "Dice-Roll" and gambling tricks, his contagious laughter and jokes, his most glory days, his forever "etiquette" in the VILLE projects with Gator soles, to having to make jokes of divorce, child support and "Gott Damm mortgage" got to leave out my own house and keys to Range Rover. "What am I gone do?" "Gottt da lickatika" (you only know that from a dice game), and his Newport 100s.
Clement leaves to Cheerish his memories, his children, Daryl Nurse, Andrew Nurse, Alexis Nurse, and Joshua Nurse, all of Connecticut; his grandchildren, Dantè Nurse of Port St., Lucie, FL, Daryllis Nurse, Daryl Nurse, Jr., Dru Gibson, Derrell Nurse, Emory Gibson, Darrius Nurse, Ai' Lani Montiero-Nurse, and Jhrè Canidate, all of Connecticut; great granddaughter, Devaeh Nurse of Port St., Lucie FL; his former wife, Wanda Wilson of Colchester; sisters, Irene Nurse-Cohen of East Hartford and Ellen Nurse of Hartford; brothers-in-law, Maurice Bell and Jerry Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Clement was predeceased by his brother, James "Jimmy" Nurse; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Wilson.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 10, 10-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life, 11 a.m., at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.
Burial will be private.
