Ann Harriott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Mar. 27, 2026.
Ann Eliza Harriott, 92, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Ann was born in Lawrence Tavern, St. Andrew, Jamaica, daughter of the late Egbert and Nella (Simms) Harriott, attended local schools, and was employed as a teacher, and then later a midwife and nurse. She migrated to the United States in 1969, and was a nurse in obstetrics at St. Francis Hospital, retiring after 37 years of caring for others with the same patience and dignity she showed her own family. Her strong work ethic and drive inspired her family to be the best they could be every day.

Ann was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will fondly be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and selfless woman who loved her family more than anything. She taught her son, Howard, the value of faith, family, discipline, respect, sacrifice, and to treat others the way you would want to be treated. Education was very important to her, and she worked very hard to make sure Howard had all the tools he needed to succeed. Ann always encouraged Howard to focus on his goals and to go above and beyond and accumulate as much knowledge as he could. She supported his dreams and celebrated all his accomplishments.

Ann was a great cook and loved creating her own recipes. She also loved reading, doing puzzles and word games (and other things to keep her mind active), watching old movies, and shopping.

Ann leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Ann leaves to celebrate her life, her son, Howard Colefield and his wife Yoshiko, and her grandson, Shotaro, all of Tokyo, Japan; her best friend, Veronica; special nephews and nieces, Joseph, Cristopher, Angela, and Sharon; as well as several other nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces; other relatives, and friends, both in the United States and the United Kingdom.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Ruthlyn (Harriott) Donaldson and Wesley Harriott.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, March 28, 11a.m.- 12 p.m., with a CT Nurses Honor Guard Service at 11:50 a.m., followed by a Prayer Service, at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.

Burial will be private.
