After all these years, I still miss him. He was the best doctor I've ever had before or after Dr. Mitchell. He would be appalled how Dr's treat their patients now. I had him as my Doctor since I was 17 until he retired. Wonderful man and physician.

I had Dr. Mitchell as my GYN for almost 40 years. Without a doubt I've never had another doctor like him. His humor, concern and compassion rates 100 for me and I can't say that about another doctor I've had since. I loved him and still miss him. Sympathies go out to his lovely family. I know you still miss him.

Dr. Mitchell was my GYN for almost 40 yrs. He was without a doubt the most compassionate and thorough doctor I had ever had before or since. I will always miss him.

Dear Mrs. Mitchell and Family, I know it is 2015, but I just learned of Dr. Mitchell's passing. He use to tell me almost every visit I needed a Primary Physician, and I would answer him, YOU are my Primary Physician. And that's the way it was for over 40 years until he retired. I've never met a more gentle or kinder physician since. He spoke of his family often with pride and sometimes laughter. Please accept my belated condolences. He was a wonderful man. It was an honor to have known him.

Dear Mrs. Mitchell, I just found out that Dr. Mitchell passed away in 2013. I was a patient of his for 40 yrs. I am so sorry to hear of you and your family's loss. He was one of the most compassionate and gentle doctors I have ever met. Before or since. I send my deepest and heart felt sympathies.

Mrs. Mitchell, Laura Lane, Clay, Mike & Mark, I have such fond memories of your entire family: spending the night with Laura Lane, waterskiing, etc. So sorry to hear of your dad, but glad he was there to meet my dad on his arrival. I am sure they are keeping each other company. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. God grant you peace and stengthen. He will live on in our hearts.

Dr. Mitchell delivered both of my daughters, Shannon in 1965, and Paige in 1967. He continued to be my Dr. until just before he retired. He was a professional Doctor, but also kind and considerate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mitchell Family during their loss of Dr. Bill Mitchell. My wife was a patient of his for 45 years (until he retired; he was a very caring physician and a special person. We had just talked about him a couple of days ago and wondered how he was doing during his retirement days. It's with deep sadness I read about Dr. Mitchell's passing. Though I know of him more through Lucy Lane's loving descriptions, it seems our world has lost a rare man. His virtue lives on in my memory and I extend my utmost sympathy.

My Dad, J.W. Bray, and Billy Mitchell were the best of friends growing up in Dalton. Our family would visit the Mitchell's when we traveled to Florida and any time they returned to Dalton. It was always a fun time. Dad and Dr. Mitchell would laugh & laugh, it was always a time of happiness and seeing close friendships between Dad & Billy, also Mom & Lucy Lane. Dr. Mitchell spoke at my Dad's funeral, and was incredibly supportive for my Mom. It's very comforting to know he & Dad are in heaven together; catching up and sharing jokes. Mom would have been at the funeral, but travel is too challenging now. Our family will be praying for the Mitchell's in this time of loss. Dr. Mitchell let me interview him at his office in the early 1990's as I was seeking opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry. His wise counsel and candor helped me to determine my direction and eventually embark on my now 22 years in the medical field. I will forever be grateful to him. Our prayers are with the Mitchell family during this difficult time.
