EDDINS, James Gilbert

Jim Eddins, age 77, of West Palm Beach, passed away quietly at home November 1, 2014. Jim is the very beloved husband of Bunny and father of Cindy Hackle of North Palm Beach, Bill Eddins (Kathy) of Delaware and Jamey Eddins (Shelly) of Michigan. Jim will also be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his brother Bill Eddins (Susan), sister-in-law Barbara Glowth, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jim served in the US Air Force and Army Reserves and retired from AT&T. Jim volunteered as a baseball coach, umpire and was the past president of the City of West Palm Beach Crime Prevention. Jim and Bunny were married for 55 years and his greatest pleasure was being with his family who knew him as Papa Jim. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL with a Funeral Service to be held at 7:00PM. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, November 6, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, West Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.

Before Jim was Papa Jim he was Dad.
When I was young, I remember being in the Indian guides with my brother and Dad. The Indian guides motto was Father and Son forever. I remember my Dad teaching me how to use a CB radio and I remember Dad added a load speaker to his car. I remember my dad having a pool installed in our Hamilton Park home – for us, not for him. I remember Dad coaching Jamey and I in baseball and later coaching with me as my boys started in Royal Palm. I remember Dad being the hardest working man I've known. Dad loved his family and friends. Most of all he loved his wife of 55 years. Mom, I'm so proud of you and Dad.
I wonder if dad can see the joy he has brought to so many. Yes, I think he can.

I worked with Jim for a long time at ATT in West Palm Beach. I always considered him a friend. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

I am very sad to hear that Jim has passed. I am very Grateful to have had Jim in life. I had a great time with Bunny and Jim this past spring and will always be grateful for the memories.

Papajim was my dads dad. every time i went to twomoms house I would always say IM HOME!!!! I'm going to miss that because I said that for him. I loved riding in his wheel chair but I would have to sneak. When he found out he would go for a ride with me. Even though he yelled at me I loved him. He was the only grandpa I knew and I miss him. I'm sending you hugs and kisses to heaven. I love you papajim!
