S. DILL Obituary

DILL, S. Leland Mr. S. Leland Dill, CPA, died peacefully on September 8 in West Palm Beach Florida at age 88. Born in Brooklyn, New York on March 28, 1930, Lee was the eldest of three boys born to Samuel Leland Dill and Jeanne Marie Dorsch. Lee cherished his family. He is survived by His devoted wife of 35 years, Marilyn Dill of West Palm Beach; his daughter Kathleen Dill, his grandson Spenser Dill and his wife Danielle; his brothers John and David and their wives Ginny and Martha; his niece Caitlin Goodwin; his nephews Matthew, Kevin and Glenn; and his former wife Nancy Dill. Lee's one great sadness was the death of his son Robert Leland Dill in 2007. Lee served in the United States Air Force earning the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. After the war, he worked for many years with the accounting firm Peat Marwick (KPMG) before taking early retirement as Partner in charge of their Investment Services Practice. Lee was member and served as chairman of various committees of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Securities Industry Association, and the Investment Company Institute. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Board of Trade. Following his retirement from KPMG, Lee served as Director of Vintners International Company, Chairman of Coutts Trust Holdings Ltd. and Managing General Partner of Pemco. He was an active Board member for the Hedge Forum (Citicorp Hedge Fund Portfolios), ING Clarion Investors LLC, and Clarion Total Return Fund. He also served as the Director and Chairman of the Audit Committees of Torchlight Value Fund Mater, LLC and Torchlight Value Fund, Inc. Lee Dill carried on a life-long love affair with golf, culminating in his memberships at the Ibis Golf and Country Club and Old Marsh Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida and Champion Hills in Hendersonville, North Carolina. A private memorial luncheon for friends and family will be held at the Old Marsh Golf Club on November 4, 2018.

Lee was a sensitive, caring and compassionate friend. Having been friends with marilyn since the age of ten, I welcomed lee into our friendship 35 years ago. Herb and I spent many hours together enjoying meals and often lively conversations about politics. Although we often disagreed, Lee was always a gentleman and never tried to force his opinion.
He was extremely devoted to marilyn. He was ar her side throughout a prolonged and difficult illness . We will all miss him! Lynn Busch
