In Memory of Dr. Jerrold M. Novotney Jerrold "Jerry" Novotney was born on July 19, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Mr. Irvin and Mrs. Lulu Novotney. Jerry was a compassionate, genuine, and generous man. He dedicated and devoted his time to his family, friends and community. Jerry was a previous member of the Temecula Noon Rotary, he was a past president of the Temecula Valley Arts Council and was a member of the Temecula Valley Playhouse Board, the Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation, the San Jacinto Symphony Board and participated in both the Temecula and Murrieta Chamber's of Commerce. Jerry was a brilliant, loving and sensitive man. Jerry received his BA in Philosophy from St. Francis College in Wisconsin, his MA in Supervision, Education & Administration from Marquette University, his doctorate from UCLA, his MBA from Pepperdine University and his nursing degree from East Los Angeles Community College District. He received the First National "Glenn Schmitz Award" from National Council for Staff Program and Organizational Development. Jerry had a joy for learning and loved to share his knowledge, so much so, that he became an accomplished author, publishing three books, four monographs, thirty articles, and four research papers. As talented and accomplished as Jerry was, he never lost sight of the importance of sharing his time with his loving wife, Pat Novotney; they explored many parts of the world together creating many unforgettable memories, during their cruises and trips to many countries. When Jerry was not working, traveling or volunteering he could be found playing the organ or spending time in the garden with his roses and iris flowers. Jerry also loved to sit, pour a glass of white wine in his special glass and relax while listening to a classical music piece in the background, or sit and read his favorite Biography book on historical figures. Jerry passed away on December 18, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pat Novotney, sister; Marcia Weisbrich, niece; Jerrilyn Mass, nephew; Scot Weisbrich and sister in-law; Judy Szakalun. Jerry's family and friends will always cherish the time and memories shared with him. Jerry will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life and as a man who lived life according to his strong convictions, morals, values and his personal philosophy; that there is good in every human being. Services will be held, Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 41875 C Street, Temecula, CA 92590 at 11am. Interment will follow at Temecula Public District Cemetery.
