L. Teague Obituary

TEAGUE, L. HUBERT "BERT" Our beloved Husband and "Dad" passed away April 6th, 2004. Hubert was born August 15, 1928 to Lucille Kelly and Lincoln Teague in Earlington, Kentucky where he lived until his early teen years. He moved to Indianapolis and graduated from Crispus Attacks High School. In 1956 he met and married his loving & devoted wife, Jean Lowe of Suffolk, Virginia. They raised 2 children in Indianapolis, and in 1969 moved to Riverside, California. As a result of his zest for entrepreneurship and love of plants, he opened a small plant store in 1973 named The Whistle Post Plant Boutique, which grew into a very successful nursery operation and florist later known as Teague's Garden. In 1980, The Press Enterprise listed Teague's Garden #5 in a list of "50 nice things to say about Riverside." Hubert leaves behind a strong legacy, fond memories and his wife, Jean; 3 children, Marsha, Lance and Ayo (Brad); and 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Erin and Ayinde. He will be missed dearly. A memorial service for family and friends will be held Sat., April 10th, 11a.m. Call 909-776-2871 for location.
