CASHMAN


DANIEL V., age 72, of Malvern PA, died September 4, 2011, surrounded by his family. Devoted husband of 26 years and partner of Donna L. Cashman (nee DeFay-Czop). Loving father of Kristin (Harry) Gleason, Elise (Andrew) Bond and Daniel E. (Kelly). Known affectionately as the "Hawk", he treasured his 7 grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Eleanor, Daniel P., Jack, Addyson and Leah. Dear former husband of Linda L. (nee Bernard) and brother-in-law of Diane L. DeFay. He is survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He cherished his loyal friends and family and his two best pals, Orion and Violet. Born in Philadelphia to Eleanor and Daniel V. Cashman, Dan graduated from St. Aloysius Academy, Malvern Prep Class of 1957 and received a B.A. in English at Villanova University Class of 1961. He was awarded The Exceptional Alumni Award of the Villanova University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. A former Marine, Dan started his career as an English Teacher at Malvern Prep and was later a Trustee of the School and Outstanding Alumni. His financial career began at Reynolds & Company, Amott Baker and First Pa. Bank. In 1973, he joined the Provident National Bank as Vice President & Manager of the Pension Department, follow-ed by President of Provident Capital Management. In 1980, Dan founded Cashman, Farrell & Associates, along with James H. Farrell, Jr., Donna Cashman & 3 other partners. For the balance of his life, Dan & Donna owned the Columbia Bar & Grille in Phoenixville PA. Dan touched the lives of many people with his sense of humor, unbridled generosity and great compassion. Well Done!
Family and friends are invited to his Celebration Mass at 4:30 P.M. on Sat., November 12, in the Malvern Prep Chapel, Malvern Prep School, 418 S. Warren Avenue, Malvern PA 19355. Internment Private.

Deepest sympathy is extended by me - another cousin - to the family of the late Daniel V. My late father, David, who died in 1978, was a brother of Daniel V 's father.From Sean Cashman & family, Waterford, Ireland .

We would like to offer our sympathies to all the Cashman Family on the sad passing of our Cousin Dan. My family originated from Aghada Co Cork and my Dad was Dan's father's younger brother. Both from Aghada.
I also stayed some time in Philly in 1959 where my Uncle Pat (Big Pat) and all the Cashmans offered me great hospitality.
