We extend our deepest sympathy to the Scholl family. Ed was Bob's C&GS; Instructor & later a colleague in the 2072d USAR School and ROA for many years. He was a truly unique individual of many talents. May God lighten the burdens of your sadness and console your grieving hearts at this difficult time. We surely will toast to his memory! Family of Ed Scholl, my name is Tom Ronk and I am the Executive Director of Reenactments for the Lewis and Clark Discovery Expedition of St. Charles, MO. I just wanted you to know first of all how sorry I am for your loss of Ed. My friendship with Col. Ed started during the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial and I can tell you your Father took in every day on the trail and lived life to the fullest. I admired your Father as a Patriot, Historian and a true American who loved his Country. I will miss your Father just like many of us who got to know him over the past 15 years or so. I am sorry I cannot attend Ed's funeral, but unfortunately, I will be with my family observing Father's Day. Please accept my sincere sympathy on your loss, we are all saddened by Ed's passing. He will not be forgotten as many a glass will be lifted in Ed's honor as we carry on our work of Historical Education. I am a better man for having known your Father.
My best regards during this most difficult time for your family.

Our sympathies to all the Scholl family. We will keep you in our thoughts... I will remember Ralph and his 67 LeMans listening to KYW News, the Amphi-car and all the trips in Lake Harmony, the wonderful picnics at Lake Hauto, dancing to the Polkas, and his nickname for me as his kid sister-in-law, " AnneWhatAm." Good memories. Thanks Ralphie! Hope your next life is filled with twice as many adventures...

I last saw Ed at Massac in October. We both were in Louisville for the first event, then I had to return home and rejoin the group but Ed was on the river to Massac. We shared a motel room as we had done many times during bicentennial. For all of '03 and most of '04 we traveled together to the events. During '05 and '06 he was able to be out on the trail more than I was. He was always prepared when we met with the public...both adults and children. He always did his share. I will miss him.

Colonel Ed, friends and comrades only for a short time. However, enjoyed our time together as Reenactors in the War of 1812events, including the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans. Will always enjoy sitting beside the camp fires swapping stories about our times as soldiers in the service of our Great Nation. Thank you my friend and God Bless, Colonel Tom Watts, U.S. Army, Retired
