VERONICA BURKE


Long term resident of Philadelphia, died Friday Nov. 10th, at her home in Shannon-dell, Valley Forge. Born October 9, 1926 to Leo and Anne Mae Burke, she was the second of 7 children. She attended Notre Dame Academy and in 1948 earned her bachelor's of Science from Immaculata University. A week after graduation she married FW (Bud) Pedrotty and to-gether were the parents of 8 children; FW III Skeeter (Babara Grace), Christine Brown (Fred), Leo B (decd) (Colleen Kelly), Colleen Miele (Bill), Noel (decd), John C (Sheila Braese), Terrence J and Veronica (Ronnie Beth) Stanley (Michael). She raised her family around the world to include Denver, CO, San Antonia TX, Okinawa Japan only to return to Philadelphia in 1962 to raise "The Gang" on Chelten Ave. Ronnie, as she was known her friends, was a highly competitive bridge play-er, a Master Ikebana flower arranger, a golf enthusiast, a lover of the Art's and patron of the Orchestra, Pops, theater and ballet. She was an accomplished seamstress and did beautiful handwork. She was dedicated to aesthetics and high design in all, particularly fashion but despite all this worldliness her favorite spot was on the beach in Ocean City, NJ surrounded by her family.
Family and friends are invited to her Services on Monday Nov. 27th at 11 A.M. St. Katharine's of Siena Catholic Church at Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA. In lieu of flowers a donation in Veronica's name to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research or The Prostate Cancer Foundation or the Breast Cancer Foundation for Research.
