Richard Stoakley Obituary
Norfolk - Richard Stratton Stoakley, 66, of Norfolk, died February 1, 2016 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel McGann Stoakley, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Stoakley, as well as his sister, Elizabeth Sherry Painter. He is survived by his brothers, Sam and Dave and his sister Mary Stoakley as well as numerous nieces and a nephew.
Rick was a graduate of Granby High School and an alumnus of Virginia Wesleyan College. After a brief stint in the Army, Rick returned to Norfolk where he held a number of jobs throughout the years.
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 520 Graydon Ave, Norfolk, at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 20.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Building Fund or a charity of your choice in Rick's memory.
