CAROLYN AUGUSTA WOOD ERNST

North Carolina, Wilkesboro - Carolyn Augusta Wood Ernst, age 80, of Wilkesboro, NC, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Wilkes Senior Village. A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park in Savannah, GA at a later date. Mrs. Ernst was born June 18, 1934 in Florence County, SC to Raymond Douglas and Dorothea Elizabeth Dorn Wood. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Wilkesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Thiot Ernst and brother Raymond Douglas Wood, Jr. Mrs. Ernst is survived by: daughter, Lynn Clark and husband William of Millers Creek, NC; son Chip Ernst and wife Lynda of Germantown, TN; three grandchildren, Rachel Ernst of Atlanta, GA, Chelsea Ernst of Marblemount, WA, Christopher Clark and wife Katie of Raleigh; two great grandchildren, Oliver Clark and Nora Clark. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, 717 Marshall Street South, Winston Salem, NC 27101 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
