GUEST DONALD J.
Donald J. Guest age 90, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 20, 2018, from complications related to dementia. Devoted husband of 41 years to the late Louise; father of Gail Fechter, James Guest and Wayne Guest; grandfather of Nicole Fechter, Jason Guest and Michael Guest; great-grandfather of Parker Guest and Hudson Guest; brother of the late Robert Guest; son of the late James and Mary Guest. Donald was a World War II Navy veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific aboard the aircraft carrier USS Suwanee (CVE-27) returning home at war's end to marry Louise Chafe and work for what later became the United States Steel Corporation in Homestead, Pennsylvania. He retired when the number 2 structural mill closed in 1986. He was a member of St. John Mark Lutheran Church in Homestead and enjoyed boating, water skiing, playing golf, traveling, listening to the Pittsburgh Pirates games on the radio, and watching the Steelers play. Visitation will be held Monday, March 26, 2018, 9-10 a.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, 15236. A Blessing Service will follow at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment immediately following.
