PAUL E., JR.
On November 18, 2004, of the East End area, peacefully at the Seneca Care Center. Paul graduated from Central Catholic High School, and was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving as a Gunner on a Torpedo Bomber plane flying from carriers. His air group participated in numerous missions in the Pacific including strikes in the Tokoyo Bay area. His plane was forced to land in the ocean twice and shot down over a Japanese infested island, from where the crew was rescued by a US Submarine. He was awarded the distinguished flying cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement. Employed for 35 years at Emerson Press. Many of those years as Union Steward. In retirement, Paul coordinated the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank at Corpus Christi Church on Lincoln Ave. Paul often gathered and distributed food, furniture and appliances to needy residents of the Lincoln Lemington area. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; beloved father of Eileen (David) Utiss, Caroline (Frank) Bertucci, Paul E., III (June) Stock, Betsy (Philip) Stillitano, Patrick J. (Gilda) Stock, Thomas (Alice) Stock, Mary Kay Franciscus, Peggy (William) Sweeney, Charles (Gay) Stock, Frederick (Jan) Stock and Sheila (Robert) Johnson; 34 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; also survived by four sisters Rosemarie, Theresa, Veronica, Kathleen and three brothers Richard, Charles and Robert. He was preceded in death by his father Paul and mother Agnes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the ENGLISH-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10 A.M. in St. John Fisher Catholic Church, Churchill.
