CHESTER SWIDWA Obituary
Age 95, of Harmar Twp., passed away Friday, July 24, 2015, in Life Care of Monroville. He was born in New Kensington on June 28, 1920, and had been a lifelong resident of the Valley. Mr. Swidwa served in The United States Marines First Division as a Corporal during WWII. He was in the battle of Guadalcanal where he wounded in combat. Chester was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Harwick. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He worked hard at two jobs so he could send his children to school. Surviving him are his two children, daughter, Dr. Denise M. Swidwa of Holiday Park, son, Kenneth J. and Monica Swidwa of N. Huntingdon; grandchild, Kenneth J. Swidwa; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Swidwa; three brothers and two sisters. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in CHESWICK at THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pgh. St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday in Our Lady of Victory Church at 10 a.m. with The Rev. Alan Morris officiating and burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery.
