Jeff and Lila,

I baby sat for you a few times back in the 1960s when I was taking a class from your father and typing one of his manuscripts, and I admired your mother more than meager words can say. She had elegance, humor, and compassion--my thoughts are with you.

Perhaps some have been Helen's equal, but no kinder, more gracious person ever walked the planet. I am grateful for the gift of having known her.

Lila, Prayers and best wishes go out to you, your family and the friends of your mother, Mrs. Shaara. While I never met your mother, I think I know a great deal by the way she raised her children. I know her lessons are being and will continue to be passed along in the future by those who remember her the best.

The story of life is quicker then the blink of an eye, the story of love is hello, goodbye.

Vera

Will always remember how kind she was to me when I lost my son in 1989. She was a beautiful lady with a caring heart. Sending caring thoughts and sympathy to all her family.
