JOHN HOEGERL Obituary
Age 90, of Penn Hills, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Life Care Hospital, Monroeville. He was born February 4,1924, in Pittsburgh, PA. John was a member of Zion's First Lutheran Church, Ambridge and was a retired waiter for various restaurants in Pittsburgh. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Helen Michael Hoegerl; and a son, Mark Hoegerl. Surviving are a daughter, Donna (Michael) Bankowski; and a son, John Leonard (Karlyn) Hoegerl, all of Pittsburgh; a daughter-in-law, Tina Hoegerl of Hopewell Twp.; and two grandchildren, Nicole and James Hoegerl. Friends will be received Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Family and friends will meet Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Zion's First Lutheran Church, at the comer of Eighth St. and Park Road, where additional visitation will take place until time of Funeral Services at 11 :00 a.m. His pastor and good friend, the Rev. Cletus Fahrion, will officiate. A private interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR OF JOHN'S PASSING, MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY & CONDOLENCES. TAKE SOLACE IN THE FACT THAT JOHN WAS VERY WELL LIKED, ALWAYS JOVIAL & A SMILE ON HIS FACE. I CHERISH THE TIMES WE SPENT BOWLING TOGETHER AT CORPEN LANES ON NEVILLE ISLAND. YOU ARE ALL IN MY THOUGHTS & IN MY PRAYERS.
