I hadn't communicated with Paul in a few years and decided to see what he was up to recently, so I was saddened and taken aback to learn he passed away. I worked with him at USA TODAY decades ago and he was a great mentor and friend to me. My belated condolences to his friends and family, especially to Cindy who was also very kind to my former wife and I when we made the transition to living in the Washington DC area. Paul made life better for a lot of people.

Dear Cindy, Matthew,Ed,Claire,Patricia and Lorraine...
Today I received an email from my sister, Janet Buckey informing me of Paul's passing. As you can imagine I am taking it quite hard along with my family. We were totally shocked at the news. Paul was more than just a friend but an amazing, intellegent man who was so kind and considerate to everyone and we always looked forward to visiting him when we were in Pittsburgh. His passing will not only leave a void in our lives but in the hearts of everyone. His memory will always remain deep in our hearts. Cindy our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. If only we knew I would of been there...Love,

I am so sad to hear of Paul's passing. Although I graduated high school in the same class as him and Cindy, I remember him from grade school as super intelligent, humble and kind. My condolences to his family and friends.

Dear Cindy and family, I am so sorry about Paul. I took the news badly. Paul was always such a teddybear and protector of all of us performers when he was on stage crew. I always felt safe when he was there on stage taking care of us or helping me off the stage. He will be truely missed by our class. I still can see him at our reunion. Paul and Cindy we watched grow as high school sweethearts and marry with children. All I can say is he is smiling down on us and is a shining star in heaven. God bless Paul and God bless his family. Cindy you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Paul was a great guy. I believe we were in first grade when I would go over to his house and we would play. He was a good friend. In jr. high and high school I remember Paul's kindness. I also remember Cindy. The two of them seemed to make such a nice couple.
