Of Ross Twp., on Monday, January 28, 2008; beloved husband of Kathleen (Ward) Welfer; loving father of Karen Rapp (Wallace), Sharon Welfer, Thomas Welfer III (Karen), Gary Welfer (Gina), Kathy Dlugonski and Jeff Welfer (Cara); dear son of Gertrude (Meyers) Welfer and the late Thomas Welfer; brother of Frank Welfer and the late Barbara Schultz; grandfather of Katie, Matthew, Andrew, Amanda, Kendra, Brooklynn, and Jacob. Visitation Wednesday, 7-9, Thursday, 2-4; 7-9 at the T. B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy, North Hills. Services in McKnight United Methodist Church Friday, 10am. Contributions may be made to McKnight United Methodist Church, 600 Fox Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

Tom and I were classmates at Duquesne University in the late 50's and early 60's. We were also Brothers in Beta Alpha Phi Fraternity and had the opportunity to work together on several projects. Tom could always be counted on for valuable assistance. My deepest sympathy to his wife, Kathleen, and his family.

I only had one conversation with your father, and that was about seven weeks ago; right in the middle of the street. I thought he would never stop talking, but the more he talked, the more I appreciated his intelligence and awareness of the goings on in the world; particularly locally.
