Stephen Miles Estner

ESTNER STEPHEN MILES, M.D.
Died suddenly on Saturday October 17, 2009 in his home in San Luis Obispo, CA. Beloved son of Seymour and the late Cynthia (Wahl) Estner of Pittsburgh. He was the devoted grandson of the late Robert and Anita Wahl of Paris, France, and the late Harry and Lena Estner of McKeesport, PA. He is survived by his sister, Anita (Philip Andreini) Estner of Martinez, CA, and brother, Michael (Fern) Estner of Jacksonville, FL, both formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, as well as dear and devoted friend, Elisa Feingold, DO and Lili Feingold of San Luis Obispo, CA. He was the beloved uncle of Paul Andreini, Rebecca and Chava Nissa Estner. Having attended Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh, Stephen graduated Taylor Allderdice High School and earned his BS degree at Haverford College, before continuing to Medical School at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his MD. He completed his Residency in General Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY and a Residency in Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego and Rappoport Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of California San Francisco. He served as a court consultant in Forensic Psychiatry throughout the State of California and particularly in the California Central Valley for 15 years. In addition to his philanthropy and kindness to those around him, he loved learning Torah and learned the skills of a Jewish Sofer [ritual scribe] from his mentor, Rabbi Shmuel Tzadok, now of New York, NY. He is sorely missed by those who knew and loved him. Graveside Services and Interment will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at New Gemilas Chesed Cemetery, 178 Upper Heckman Drive, North Versailles, PA.
