Faye S. Wardle, 88, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at her home in Egin Bench, Idaho.
Faye was born Dec. 15, 1922, on the family farm on North Crowley Road in Bonneville County, Idaho, the daughter of John Lawrence and Deon Elizabeth Smith Seedall.
She was raised on the farm, where she learned to work with her hands and with horse teams. She attended first grade in Ammon, Idaho, and grades two through seven at Crowley. She went to the eighth grade at Ucon and graduated from Ucon High School. She also graduated from Ricks College and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she received her teaching degree.
She started teaching at Central School in St. Anthony, then Teton and South Fremont junior high school for a total of 35 years, a time she found rewarding and fulfilling. No one remembers hearing a negative comment or complaint about her students or teaching experience.
She married Blaine V. Wardle on June 28, 1944, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They purchased a farm from Blaine's father in the Egin area, where they built their home and continued to live. She was a devoted wife and attended to her husband's every need during a longstanding health condition. They had one adopted daughter, Barbara.
Mr. Wardle died April 27, 2007, and Barbara died Nov. 14, 2008.
Faye was very active in the LDS church, serving as a stake mutual president and as the Egin Bench LDS Ward organist for many years, playing at numerous funerals and other events. She also served in the community as a charter member of the Business and Professional Womens Melodaires, president of the Fremont Teachers Association and was named teacher of the year. She also helped lead the drives for the American Cancer March of Dimes pennies by the inch. For many years, she was chairwoman of the 24th of July parade. The banners she made are still being used.
She enjoyed sewing, handwork projects, traveling and cooking. Many people remember her beautiful table settings and elegant dinners.
She is survived by a sister, Leahbeth (Claude) Muse of Paso Robles, Calif.; a brother, John Robert (Marjorie) Seedall of Idaho Falls; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 nephews; and a niece.
Besides her parents, husband and daughter, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Lawrence Seedall, and a sister, Dorothy Deane Peterson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in the Parker LDS church with Bishop Brent Williams officiating. Friends may call at Bidwell Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, and again from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church just prior to the service. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery.

Faye was an amazing person. I loved her dearly and appreciate all the meals she cooked for me in the summer time after I would mow her lawn or weed her many beautiful flower gardens. She and Blaine always treated me like a grandson and would tell me the best stories. I will miss both of them very much but will always cherish the many memories I created at there farm house in Egin, just a mile from where I grew up. Faye was so kind and was a delight to be around. I had the privilege of also planting there beautiful flowers each spring with my family and wrapping the fence with Christmas lights in the winter ~ ~

Mrs. Wardle was my teacher in Jr. High and she encouraged me and all the other students to always do their best! She helped me to realize the joy of using my hands in crocheting, macrame, needlepoint and many other things. Never a moment of idleness since. I will always cherish the memories.

Mrs. Wardle was a good teacher and encouraged us to do well in all things. She appreciated good penmanship and provided a good example of it for us. She gave us a rigorous treatment in outlining that has helped us more than we probably realize. About the most amazing thing about her was she could recognize us, her pre-teen students, over 4 decades later and call us by name! That looks to me to be the mark of a teacher who really cares about her students.

I remember her as a kind and excellent teacher with almost perfect penmanship.

Mrs. Wardle taught me many years ago. She was a dedicated teacher who loved her students and made them want to excel. I offer my sympathy to the family.
