Robert Ream Lochry

BRIGADIER GENERAL (RET) ROBERT REAM LOCHRY USAF, 93 Brigadier General (Ret) Robert Ream Lochry U.S. Air Force, 93, husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Conway) Lochry, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Born in Salt Lake City, UT, he was the son of the late Harry Ream Lochry and Marie (Pazandak) Lochry. Brigadier General Lochry graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point in 1945. He served in the US Army Air Corps and US Air Force for forty years until he retired in 1985. He earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from RPI in 1950 and a PhD in Astronomics from UCLA in 1966. He was Professor and Head of the Mathematical Sciences Department at the US Air Force Academy from 1970 to 1985. He was made a Professor Emeritus of the Math Dept in 1991. He was a member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Kimberton, PA. Surviving are sons, Robert and wife Terry Lochry of Malvern, PA, and James Lochry of Mt. Charleston, NV; daughters, Elizabeth and husband Joseph Tripoli of Mt. Bethel, PA, and Leslie and husband Michael Bryson of Phoenixville, PA; five grandchildren, Lauren, Steve, Jessica, Christy and Michael, and a brother, Roger Lochry of Modesto, CA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Most Holy Trinity Chapel at West Point, NY on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in West Point Cemetery, NY. A viewing will be held in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 9 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, PO Box 637, Kimberton, PA 19442.
