Marilynn P. Heady

POUGHKEEPSIE- Marilynn P. Heady of Poughkeepsie, NY, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born October 25, 1923 in Buchanan, NY she was the daughter of John Haydyn Rhys Price and Emma S. Kasch. She was a graduate of Henry Hudson High School and Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. She married Leonce L. Heady in New Orleans in January, 1945. A local resident since 1957, Marilynn worked as a director of summer camps and children's clubs where she was known as "Mrs. Marilynn", and in the purchasing department for IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, retiring in 1986. She was President of the Women's Auxiliary for the New Hackensack Fire Department, a member of Eastern Star and the Wappingers Community Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts and liked to play the organ and piano. She was active in setting up activities at Sundance Lake in New Port Ritchie, FL. Marilynn is survived by her sons Glen T. Heady and his wife Ursula of Wappingers, Lee R. Heady and his wife Rita of Pleasant Valley and Paul S. Heady and his wife Melinda of Clinton Corners, NY. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Christopher Heady of Wappingers, Rebecca Heady of Wappingers, Erin Heady of Poughkeepsie, Meghan Amara of Hearst, TX, Sarah Heady of Bell Buckel, TN and Jeremy Heady of Ashland, OR and her great-grandchildren Trevor James Amara and Tommy McMahon. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Services will be held at 6 pm during the visitation. A Graveside Service will be on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Hillside Cemetery in Peekskill, NY.
