Having spent 22 summers on the Vassar College Campus, working with Mary , it was about this time that we would being the planning process for our annual Leadership Program. Mary was our number 1 point of contact for Summer Programs. She was in a league of her own. She cared deeply and made it her mission to be sure we were supported well. The world would be a better place if there were more Mary Deckers in it

I worked with Mary from 1987-2009 at Vassar College for our summer program that The Estee Lauder Companies held annually. Nothing was too much trouble for Mary and she was always kind and patient to everyone she encountered. She made our programs work and was the glue that held the office of Summer Programs together. We loved her dearly and she brought sunshine with her where ever she goes. She was a great blessing to us all!

I'm so sorry to hear that Mary has passed. I met her in 1994, as a young apprentice in the Powerhouse program. I had the pleasure of knowing her as a teacher there in subsequent summers. Mary was one of the kindest, warmest people I have ever met. I know that's something people say frequently, so much so that it's lost its meaning, and has become somewhat of a cliché. But in Mary's case, it was 100% true. She made such an impression on a 20 year old me, one I still hold on to all these years later. She made you feel loved, welcomed, and important. She meant so much to so many people. And yet, she was so humble. I know I'll never meet anyone else quite like her, and I feel grateful that I got to know her. I send her family and friends my sincere condolences.

Kristine I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I had many laughs with her at Vassar and many talks about our "girls". Know your Mom always had a smile and kind word for all she ran into. Her memory and good times will always be there with you. Know you were her Pride and Joy and your daughter too. Again Kristine I am so sorry.
