Jean Dunn Obituary

Jean Ruth Dunn, 76, of North Liberty, died Saturday afternoon, December 17, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral Services to celebrate Jean's life will be Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at 11 a.m. at North Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alecia Williams officiating. Burial will be at Ridgewood Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lensing's Oak Hill, Coralville, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church. A memorial fund has been established.
Jean was born May 16, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Bruce and Ruth Morse Rogers. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids and attended Cornell College where she studied art. On February 25, 1950, she married Robert L. Dunn. They would have celebrated there 56th anniversary this February.
Jean was an accomplished artist and wood carver. She traveled with Bob from South Africa, where they lived for two years, to Rome, Tunis, England, France and then back home.
Jean loved her kids, their spouses and her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and camping.
Jean is survived by her husband, Bob; her children, Patricia "Trish" Dunn of Los Angeles, Robert (Carmen) Dunn and their children April and Clinton, Gerald Dunn, Scott (Jodi) Dunn and their daughter Tia, and David Dunn all of North Liberty; Jim Long of Longmont, Colorado, and Ken Long of Phoenix; one great-grandson Noa.
