James Bogart Obituary
Owego: James F. Bogart, 45, passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2015. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Marilyn and Dale Bogart, Sr. Jim is survived by his sister, Michele Bogart; his brother Dale Bogart, Jr. and Tammy Licata and their boys, Charles and Samuel Licata; his maternal grandmother, Josephine Truesdail; his step-mother, Linda Bogart; his step-sister, Jenny Jacobs; also several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jim was born in Endicott, NY on October 12, 1969. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing anywhere he could drop a line in the water and was a lifelong avid fan of the Demolition Derby. He was kind and thoughtful; always putting others needs before his own. Jim was good company and always had a smile and a laugh for everyone. Family and friends are invited to visit at Richards Funeral Home Rte. 17c West, Owego, NY on Monday March 16, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will then begin at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Leonard Jackson, officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Tioga Cemetery. Those wishing may consider a memorial contribution in memory of Jim to support a local charity of their choice. Bogart was a once and a lifetime kind of friend...a man wearing a constant smile and a laugh so unique you couldn't miss him coming from a mile away. Affecting lives with his presence and passing. My condolences go out to Shelly, Dale, and the rest of the Bogart clan. Like many, I was both shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Growing up around the Owego area, it would be impossible not to have known (or at least heard of) Jimbo. Quite a humble, and yet engaging character. Always approached you with a smile and with a story to share. I recall being at a 4th of July party down at Hickories once and being too drunk to drive. I slept in my car that night, only to be awakened a few hours later to the sound of Jimbo knocking on my window. He was looking down at me, and with that unmistakable voice of his ordering, "Get up Kristek; we're going fishing!" ...I suspect that the world as we know it will be just a little less colorful without Jimbo around. Rest in peace, my friend.
