Thomas Polkowski Obituary
Hillcrest: Thomas S. Polkowski, 77, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Dickson City, PA. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine of 49 years; parents, John and Salomea; brothers, John and Joe; sisters, Bernice, Celia, Johanna and Marci. He is survived by his sons, John V. and Nancy Polkowski, Victor and Janet Polkowski; two grandchildren, Thomas and John; one great-grandchild, Christian; sisters, Nettie, Rose, Mary and Cherie; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom retired from Link Simulation after 35 years of service. Tom was a long time member of the Hillcrest Community serving in the Hillcrest Community Association, St. Catherine of Sienna Church Holy Name Society, member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, supported Little League and Boy Scout Troop 199. Tom asked that we thank UHS Oncology, especially Dr. Khan and Lourdes Hospice for helping him throughout his illness. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Church. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will recieve friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations in Tom's memory to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.

I've known Tom for well over 30 years. We worked together at Singer-Link and even though I moved away from Binghamton many years ago, we'd have a beer together when I got to town and always saw him at Bill Curran's Longest Friday Party. I'll miss Tom. He was a good and smart guy, and as a bonus grew up the next town down the line from my home town of Peckville. RIP, Tom.
