Francis Conrad Obituary

Conrad, Francis J.

Francis J. Conrad, 92, of Conklin, passed away on November 24, 2015, at home, as peacefully and quietly as he lived. He was the beloved husband of Mary and the devoted father of Jerry, John, Bob and Susie, who survive him, and Jim and Barbara who predeceased him. He was a proud grandpa to his much loved grandson, Tom. Francis was the son of Rose Hanifin Conrad and John Conrad, and brother to John, Robert, and Joyce, all of who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister Betty Shores, who will miss her "best brother." Also surviving are son in-law Ron Hidalgo, brother in-law John Stats, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He served in the US Army Air Force during Word War II. After the war he graduated from the first class of Broome Community College, where he excelled as a student and athlete. He was a valued employee of Singer-Link for many years beginning as an electrical technician and ending as a senior engineer. His classmate and co-workers called him "Big Red" or "Red," referring to his hair and six foot four stature. He was a "big" man in many ways- tall and imposing, but gentle and quiet, generous and responsible. He was a good man. He will be sorely missed. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at St. Mary's Church in Kirkwood at 11am. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in Shawsville Cemetery. Arrangements are with the THOMAS J. SHEA Funeral Home Inc.

Sorry about Reds passing
He was a GREAT COWORKER
He will be remembered for the many accomplishments he made during his years at LINK.
I met him in 1966,(seems like yesterday) and remember him as a very RESERVED INTELLIGENT person, who had a simple approach to complex solutions.
God bless the Conrad Family.
