Walter Saunders Obituary
of Binghamton
Walter E. Saunders, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2010. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Kostick Saunders in 1992 and his daughter, Janet Eileen Saunders in 2008. He is survived by his two sons: David Saunders, his wife, Cindy and children, Brianna, Josiah and Austin, of Reno, NV; and Mark Saunders, his wife, Kathy and children, Danielle, Drew and Dane of Apalachin, NY. He is also survived by in-laws, Helen and James Waring of Binghamton, NY; Stephen and Ethel Kostick of Binghamton, NY; Dorothy Kostick of Binghamton, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a World War II veteran, having served with U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. He was a long time employee of Singer Link as well as several other local businesses, retiring from the Sheltered Workshop, Inc.
The Funeral Service will be held at Ross Corners Baptist Church, 2101 Owego Rd., Vestal, NY on Monday, April 12, at 10:00 AM, with the burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Viewing hours will be held Sunday, April 11, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Barber Memorial Home, 428 Main St. Johnson City, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ross Corners Christian Academy, 2101 Owego Rd., Vestal NY, 13850.
