Arnold K. Dietrich
of Endwell, N.Y.
Arnold K. Dietrich, 95, of Endwell, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2006, at the Hilltop Methodist Home after a long illness. He was born September 10, 1910 in Vienna, Austria, to the late Karl and Rosa (Hackel) Dietrich. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary (Feike) Dietrich, Endwell, N.Y.; a sister, Rose Cmok, Vienna, Austria; one daughter, Lore Brock, Austin, Texas; two sons, Fred Dietrich, Vestal, N.Y., and Werner Dietrich, Laconia, N.H.; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Pajerek, Vestal, N.Y. and Gaithersburg, Md.; three grandsons, Christopher Dietrich, Syracuse, N.Y., Scott Dietrich and his wife, Jacque, Smithfield, N.C., and Preston Brock, Austin, Tex.; one granddaughter, Michele (Mrs. Thomas) Kahlich, Austin, Tex.; three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Arnold emigrated with his family in 1956, settling in Binghamton, N.Y. He was employed at Link Aviation for more than 20 years and was especially proud to have worked on the Apollo lunar landing program. Retiring in 1975, he enjoyed his ham radio and computer, and loved the friends he made around the world, traveling with his wife.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Monday from 5-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to United Methodist Homes, 286 Deyo Hill Rd., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790.
