Bhaw Shukla Obituary

Bhaw Dutt Shukla
of Vestal
Bhaw Dutt Shukla, 65, suddenly passed away on November 5, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Dr. Uma Shukla; daughter, Neelu Shukla and son-in-Law Ryan Holoubek, Denver, Colo.; two brothers; two sisters; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He was born near Banaras, India, where he was raised and met his wife. He comes from a highly educated family and his grandfather, Acharya Ram Chandra Shukla, was a world renowned Hindi scholar and author. Bhaw received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Buffalo, where he graduated with Tau Beta Pi honors. He was employed by Singer, CAE Link, Hughes Electronics, Raytheon, and L3 Communications for almost thirty years. He was active in the Indian community and was Chairman of the India Cultural Center, and Treasurer of the World Brahmin Association. He enjoyed life to its fullest extent and always had a friendly smile on his face. He was dedicated to helping others, guided many to achieve their dreams, and touched countless lives. He practiced a healthful lifestyle, which included yoga, exercise, and a healthy diet, and was also an avid sports enthusiast. Bhaw, you loved so many with all your heart and we will always remember your joking nature and sense of humor. We all love you and you will be forever in our hearts and our minds.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 5 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Wednesday from 3 p.m. until service time at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so in memory of Bhaw Shukla to the University of Buffalo Foundation Inc., School of Engineering, Scholarship Fund, 412 Bonner Hall, University of Buffalo, Buffalo, N.Y. 14260. The University will be selecting a student to receive a special scholarship in Bhaw's name.
