Donald Ulmer Obituary

Donald E. Ulmer, Sr.
of Chenango Bridge, N.Y.
Donald E. Ulmer, Sr. passed away suddenly Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Bridgewater Rehabilitation Center. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Ruth in July 2008; his parents, Donald L. and Ruth Ulmer; and a brother, Jack Ulmer. Donald was born in Binghamton, January 4, 1920. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Wilson Starr; sons and daughter-in-law, Donald Jr. and Thelma Ulmer, David Ulmer; grandson, Kenneth and Donna Starr; granddaughter, Karen Starr; great-grandsons, Kenny and Matthew Starr; and a sister-in-law, Georgette Ulmer. He was a great Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa and will be greatly missed. He was a graduate of Binghamton North High School. He retired after 45 years of service with Link Aviation. He was a life member and past president of the Chenango Bridge Fire Co., past commander of Susquehanna Power Squadron and past member of the board of directors of the Valley Industrial Credit Union. He was a member of the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church and he was an avid model train enthusiast.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends Monday, September 29, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, N.Y. Those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to the Chenango Bridge Fire Co., PO Box 12, Chenango Bridge, N.Y. 13745, or the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church, PO Box 501, Chenango Bridge, N.Y. 13745.
