Eddie died much too soon, but he seemed to live several times the size of a normal life and on a happier plane. His work life alone included world-wide travels and friends, apart from his world-class problem solving skills. By the time a problem’s priority got bumped up enough to get Eddie a charge number, things were grim; but, Eddie would lope in, happy to help, joking and showing anyone interested his latest diagnostic tools and taking them through the solution, changing the atmosphere 180 in the process.

Ed was a truly a mentor in my life. When I was a young pup in the field he stepped forward and shared his skills and friendship to a total stranger.

This is something I have never forgotten. I've run into Ed on and off throughout the years and I've always noticed that he never stopped helping people. I never knew his personal life but in his career field he had a million friends and family. He was the best of the best, and his passing will me missed by many whose lives he touched.

My condolences to his family, but please note that he had an "extended family" that knew no borders. He will be missed by many friends.

My sincere sympathy goes out to Ed's entire family. Ed was one of those rare individuals you cross paths with in life, that will forever leave a positive impression on you. His humility is something I will always remember. Most of us in the field of simulation were in awe of Ed, yet he did not have an arrogant bone in his body. Ed was truly a gentleman and friend; I will always smile when I remember him. He will be greatly missed!

I am truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Ed at Link, played softball and traveled with him on many simulator installations. Our hotel room televisions always had the best color convergence after the fine tuning "Fast Eddie" performed. My deepest sympathies to Ed's family! In the relatively short time I worked and traveled with Ed, he taught me much. Of all the lessons I learned from Ed, however, I will remember most his positive attitude about others. Not only did he avoid criticizing others but he seemed to always find something he liked about those he encountered in life.

Mike Miles

April 9, 2007

I worked with Eddie only one time during my career at Link and I still remember it to this day. It was on an MD-88 MST simulator in Atlanta GA with Delta Airlines and I was the assigned acceptance/integration engineer. We had electrical signal problems in our I/O cabinet that stumped everyone else so Eddie was called in. He located and fixed the problems in a few hours in one of Link's most complex simulators ever. Eddie probably never knew me but I certainly knew him. He was truly a giant among men in my world and will be sorely missed.

Ed, I hope the big guy has assigned you a worthy new task that needs fixin. We will miss you.
