Gerald Russik Obituary

Gerald E. Russik

Binghamton - Gerald E. (Jerry) Russik, 83, went to be with the Lord and his beloved cat Miss Kitty on February 7, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Amelia Russik. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years Mary Ann Russik; son Bryan Russik and Ann Skillman; daughter Julienne Russik-Moisan; grandchildren Blake, Krystal, Kendra and Kiera. He retired from Singer Link after over 30 years; was active in St. Mary of the Assumption Church with the Marion Players, the Bazaar, Bingo, the choir and transportation for the elderly. His love of baseball and years of playing softball led to a 40+ year career as a local Umpire. During his retirement he enjoyed taking photographs and traveling to Art Shows with his wife. Thank you to those special aides and nurses at Willow Point Nursing Home who took care of Jerry. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 12, 2021 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Broome County Humane Society or Mercy House of the Southern Tier. Arrangements are in the care of the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC.

Dear Mary Ann and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I worked many years with him. He also spent spare time taking photos of hot-air balloons. He was very kind to share pictures he took of mine with me. I have them in my home and will always treasure them. God Bless Jerry.

Although I haven't seen my nephew Jerry in many years since I left Binghamton so many years ago, I will always cherish the memories of me and Jerry having fun. Playing mumbly-peg in his backyard on Robinson street. Carving things from the "chills" from the sand casting foundry at the end of the street. Time away does not change love. Jerry, you are always in my heart, and I know we'll meet again on the other side. Your loving uncle, Bernie
