She loved children and will be forever remembered by her surviving family members: nephew, Gregory (Elizabeth) Szymaniak and children, Justin, Aleksander and Adam; nephew, Gary (Jackie) Szymaniak and children, Amy and Jeffrey (wife Amy and newborn Frankie); nephew, Robert (Marilyn) Roebuck and children, Andrei (Joanne) and Julia Green (and her children, Tiffany and Nicholas); nephew, Ronald Bucek and his son, Zachary; niece, Kathy Szymaniak Himko and daughter, Jill-Roselynn; niece, Georgianna Roebuck (William) Graham and children, Veronica and Shawn; niece, Joan Bucek and stepchildren, Kurt (Karla), Kevin (Kathy) and children, Kristopher, Kameron and Kolton; niece, Doreen Bucek (John) Marchal; and great-nephew, Eric (Darlene) Mikolasko and children, Marina and Even, and Eric's father, John Mikolasko. During WWII, Jean worked at Link Aviation as a secretary. After the war, Jean and her husband, Walter (Krenitsky) owned and operated a railroad hotel (The Chapman) on Lewis Street in Binghamton, along with her brother, George, and his wife, Ann. In later years, she managed the business office at Lourdes Hospital and completed her work career as a bank secretary. Aunt Jean was a communicant of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church, 298 Clinton St., Binghamton, and was a member of its Ladies Guild. She loved to dance with her husband at St. Michael's hall on Saturday evenings. She had a blue tooth, which is similar to a sweet tooth, and gave her siblings, Mary, George, Ella and Rose, and her parents, Peter and Helen, blue teeth from the many blueberry pies she made and shared with them. A lifelong resident of the Triple Cities area, Jean spent her last years with her nephew's family (Greg and Beth Szymaniak) in Syracuse and traveled to the Pirohi Capitol (Binghamton) to participate in St. Michael's annual Lenten Pirohi Project.
