Louise M. Santanna, of Oliver Street, died peacefully Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Pasquale and Mary Buonomo; her first husband, Joseph J. Santanna; and her brothers, Anthony and Paul Buonomo. She is survived by her loving husband, Ian F. Gilbert, Binghamton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kay Sampson, Chenango Bridge and Karen and Brian Villecco, Castle Creek; five grandchildren, Jill and Jeffrey Stephens, Jeffrey and Christina Sampson, Joshua Brown, Joseph and Amber Villecco; two great-grandchildren, Jenna Stephens and Sophia Sampson, all of whom were the love and light of her life; one sister, Madeline Penzone, Carbondale; one brother and treasured sister-in-law, Joseph and Peggy Buonomo, Endicott; one sister-in-law, Kay Buonomo, Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of St. Paul's Church and a retired employee of Singer Link. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Nona). She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, and 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
