Mary Wilson Obituary

Mary Alice Wilson
of Conklin
Mary Alice Wilson, 70, of Conklin, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Mary Alice was born in Pleasant Mount, Pa., and moved to the Binghamton area in 1957 and went to work at IBM Endicott in 1957, where she retired after 22 years. She was also employed at General Electric and Singer Link. Mary Alice was a longtime parishioner of St. Andrews Church. She loved all aspects of home decorating and most especially painting; she also enjoyed gardening and making crafts and was a very avid Yankee fan. She was an incredibly devoted daughter, wife, mother and friend. Her tremendous spirit of love and selflessness will be missed by all those who knew her and her contagious smile will never be forgotten. She is predeceased by her beloved mother and father, Elizabeth and Daniel Leonard. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert; two daughters and one son-in-law, Katrina and Thomas Lipyanic, Daleville, Pa., Kimberly Wilson, Ormond Beach, Fla.; one son, RJ (Bobby) Wilson, Rochester.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009, at the Savage Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Ave., Binghamton. Funeral Services will be held January 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Sts. John & Andrew Church with Msgr. Michael Meagher officiating. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the Our Lady of Lourdes oncology doctors and nursing staff for their excellent care and compassion. I am grateful I got to see your MAW the week before she died. I knew when I saw her that day that she would probably be gone before I returned from my trip. I am sure you all know MAW was an angel here on earth. I wish she wasn't recalled to heaven. I will miss her so much as many people will. I feel such a hole in the world without her presence. I hope you all can survive your grief with all the beautiful memories of MAW. I do and will always miss her deeply. ~jody \,,/.

Dear Family,
I had the privilege of being Mary Alice's manager at IBM back in the mid-1980's. She was a delight to work with and I recall talking with her mom on the phone when Mary Alice was undergoing chemo and radiation. Everybody loved Mary Alice as her life was a testimony of contagious joy. My thoughts are with you at this time of loss. May God comfort you with memories of this special loved one.

Kim and family:
Your mom was certainly a wonderful, sweet, and happy lady. Although I haven't been lucky enough to see her around here in a while, I'll always remember how much I enjoyed talking with her when we met around Conklin, and how nice she was to Erin while you guys were growing up. Erin absolutely loved going to your house, and I'm sure it had something to do with how great your mom treated her. Take comfort in good memories.
