Melvin E. Tobey Jr.
of Port Crane
Melvin E. Tobey Jr. of Port Crane, 64, went to be in the arms of the Lord on Saturday August 7, 2010 from the Wilson Memorial Hospital. Tobey was pre-deceased by his parents Melvin E. & Thelma Tobey Sr. Survivors include his wife; Bonnie Tobey, sons, Ronald & Kelly Warwick, Randy Warwick, Matthew & Lindsey Webb, daughter, Tammy & Chuck Woody, grandchildren, Keira & Kaida Warwick, Estella & Hudson Webb, Joshua, Monica & Serena Woody. Tobey was a Veteran of the U.S.M.C. during Viet Nam and was the Honorary Commander of the Joseph P. Mangan American Legion Post #1194. He was at onetime a very active mechanic in the area also a former emploee of Singer Link and Binghamton Simulator. Tobey was very good with his hands as a craftsman and loved remote control planes, helicopters and boats as well as an avid bowler. He was aslo a member of the Binghamton Shad Club.
Military Honors will begin the Memorial Service and Celebration of Tobey's life this Sunday August 15, 2010 at 2:30 PM at the Joseph P. Mangan American Legion Post #1194 in Hillcrest. Tobey's family would like to thank Billy & Faye Johnson for all their love and support over the years. Those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society 57 Front St. Binghamton, NY 13905 or the American Legion Post 1194 363 West Service Hghwy Binghamton, NY 13901. Tobey is "ON THE ROAD AGAIN".

i met butch right after moving 2 port crane,at age 6 finding out later we were distant cousins. knew him 4 53 yrs, bowled with him, hung out some always knew him to b loyal friend & all around good man. condolences & prayers to his family scott jamieson binghamton ny

I remember Tobey from PC and a friend of our family growing up.It had been several yrs since we last saw one another but he always had a smile.
May he be at peace now, leaving many wonderful stories to share amongst friend and I'm sure they'll bring a laugh or two .
