Norbert P. (Knobby) Gervais
of Myrtle Beach, S.C.Norbert P. (Knobby) Gervais, age 77, passed away Friday, January 5, at Waccamaw Community Hospital following a short illness. Born in Westbrook, Maine, a son of the late Joseph A. and Rose (Ouelett) Gervais, Mr. Gervais is survived by his daughters, Glenna and Miles Burke, Indio, Calif., Denise Gervais-Rock, Endwell, N.Y.,Norine Gervais, Endicott, N.Y., Celeste Gervais, Ithaca, N.Y.; two brothers, Ernald Gervais and Ronald Gervais, both of Maine; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gervais was predeceased by his brother, Merton Gervais; sister, Roberta Brim; one nephew, one grandnephew, one niece and one grandniece. Mr. Gervais retired from Singer-Link Aviation in Kirkwood, N.Y., and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 178 of Murells Inlet.
Memorial services will be held at a later date by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Murells Inlet American Legion Post 178, Post Office Box 478, Murrells Inlet, S.C. 29576, or the VA Hospital of Charleston, S.C. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
