Richard Frisbie Obituary
Richard C. Frisbie
of VestalRichard C. Frisbie, 70, of Vestal, peacefully relinquished his struggles on Monday, February 6, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Irene Frisbie; and two brothers, Gary and Edward. He is survived by his three loving children and their spouses, Joni and Tony Buchta, Richard S. and Alison Frisbie, and Wendy and Mark Mastrogiovanni, all of Vestal; his eight beautiful grandchildren, his babies, Nick and Amanda Buchta, Katie, Jon, Jesse and Michael Frisbie, and Tony and Nicole Mastrogiovanni; and his beloved black lab, Stormy. Also surviving are the mother of his children, Eva Kretsch; sisters-in-law, Ann Frisbie and Helen Frisbie; a brother, Joseph; a very special nephew, Joe Frisbie; and special friends, Marty Shearer, Mary Rees, and Si and Jane Baldwin. He graduated from Waverly High School in 1955 and without any other formal education, began his career at Ingersoll Rand Co., where he worked as a draftsman from 1955-1965, when he moved to Link Aviation and worked on their first space simulator until 1967. He then became employed at IBM, Endicott, where he was a respected Mechanical Engineer, with a number of patents to his name, before retiring in August 1991, after 24 years of service. He was also an avid volunteer as manager and coach of Vestal Little League and Vestal Babe Ruth Baseball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at his ranch with his son and many of his friends. His children would like to say a special thank you to the nurses and patient care assistants at Lourdes Hospital and especially Lourdes Hospice and their volunteers. Without their wonderful care and concern, this would have been a more difficult time. A special thank you to Barbie for her gentle way with dad-we always felt so comforted knowing she was with him when we couldn't be. We also ask those wishing to kindly consider a donation in Rich's memory to the Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, N.Y. 13850.
As per Dad's wishes there will be no memorial service, but his children invite friends and family to join them for a celebration of his life Sunday, February 12th, at the Vestal Inn, Front Street, Vestal, from 1-3 p.m. Your struggles are over dad, rest now and know how much we love you!
