of Johnson CityRobert P. Eitel, 71, of Johnson City, went to be with the Lord suddenly Wednesday morning, June 28, 2006, at his home. He was predeceased by his son, Bob Eitel; his parents, Charles and Mary Eitel; a brother, John Eitel; and two sisters, Kathryn Mercincavage and Joan Eitel. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 48 years, Lillian Eitel, Johnson City; a son, Joe Eitel, Johnson City; a daughter, Kathy Eitel, Palmyra, Pa.; a granddaughter and her husband, Angela and Adam Preuss, N.J.; a sister, Margaret (Peg) Testagrossa, Long Island; a sister-in-law, Terri Eitel, Newburg, N.Y.; also several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City. He was a retired employee of the Singer Link Corp. in Kirkwood with many years of service. He had served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Bob enjoyed many hours working on and upgrading his computer. He will be missed greatly by his family.
Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Monday at 10:30 a.m., and, due to flooding at Blessed Sacrament Church, at 11: 00 at St. James Church, Johnson City, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Blessed Sacrament Church Memorial Fund, 13 Cenacle Plaza, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790, in Robert P. Eitel's memory.
