Robert S. Ellison
of Triangle
Robert S. Ellison, 72, born May 14, 1934 in Cortland, N.Y., passed away July 12, 2006 at Bridgewater Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents, Ervin D. and Leora Ellison; and two brothers, Ervin D. Ellison III and William Ellison. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, June (Shapley) Ellison; two daughters, Debbie (Tom) O'Neill, Pamela Rasey; two grandchildren, Sean (Melissa) Arends, Atley Arends; one great-grandson, Robert (Robbie) Arends; one sister, Patricia Sweet, Cortland; one brother, Greydon Ellison, Triangle; many nieces, nephews and cousins; one special brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Annie Shapley, Greene; also two step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. He graduated from Whitney Point School. He retired from Singer Link after 42 years of service as a manager in Production Control. He was a former member of the Triangle Baptist Church, Triangle Grange and Triangle Fire Co. His favorite hobbies were golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling, boating on Cayuga Lake and traveling.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene. Rev. George Rathmell, pastor of Triangle Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in South Street Cemetery. Friends of the family may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Root Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or to the Triangle Fire Department.
