Katherine Jahn Obituary

Katherine Margaret Jahn (Kathy) passed away quietly on September 3, 2011 at age 72. She had shown amazing strength in her battle against Congestive Heart Failure. Beloved Wife, Devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother, Kathy is survived by her husband of 42 years Jerry T. Jahn of Santa Rosa, Sons George Gonsalves of Brentwood, Kenneth Gonsalves of Brentwood, Gregory Gonsalves, Jeffrey Jahn of Monte Rio; Nine Grandchildren and Three Great Great Grandchildren. Kathy is also survived by loving sister Roberta (Birdie) Sowers of Manteca. She was born in Oakland CA and was raised in Stockton and Oakland; she graduated from Fremont High, Oakland in 1959. She attended Diablo Valley College studying art and became a professional painter in oils, water color and pen and ink. She originated and owned Main Street Art Gallery and Frame in Pleasanton, CA. for ten years. She spent most of her adult life in Contra Costa County and as member, was involved in multiple local, national art associations and internet web site. She sold her paintings locally and to people from all over the world. She and her husband moved to Santa Rosa in 2005 to their last retirement home. Memorial will be attended by immediate family and a Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. She will be interred in Santa Rosa Memorial Park; a donation to your favorite charity in her name will be appreciated by the family. Santa Rosa Mortuary Eggen and Lance Chapel, 545-3747.
