Jeff Webber Obituary

Jeff Webber
Jeff Webber, 66, died January 7th, 2019 in a fatal plane crash near Colusa, CA. He entered the world on January 7, 1953, kicking and screaming to the proud parents of R.B. and Shirley Webber. After matriculating through the public school system in Medford, OR, he attended Yale University, graduating in 1976. He then attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was the self-proclaimed smartest person in his class.
He was known for his gregarious sense of humor, love for entertaining, and intellectual sparring. His passion for the outdoors led him to some of the best hunting, fishing, skiing, and houseboating in North America. His passing will certainly ensure a mass waterfowl repopulation in the fabled Butte Sink. When he was not outdoors, he was a rabid fan of the Oregon Ducks and the Golden State Warriors.
Mr. Webber was well respected as a family man and was adored by his two children: Nicole Ashley Webber, 24 and Robert Thomas Webber, 21. Family favorites also included numerous four legged friends: Goose, Roux, Moose, Haute, Hershey, Emcee, and Lukie.
Mr. Webber began his professional career at Mckenzie & Company in Los Angeles, which was the beginning of a lifelong career as an early-stage investor, board member, and close advisor to scores of emerging growth technology companies in the Silicon Valley. He founded New Venture Consultants, Inc., R.B. Webber & Company, and was a managing director of venture capital funds. Throughout his career, Jeff ardently mentored and supported his friends and family to achieve their dreams.
At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral or memorial service. However, those who wish to donate in his name are invited to do so with "Stanford University's Mood Disorders Center", "Big Wave Project", or the charity of their choice. Webber was an extraordinary contributor to and advocate for mental health causes.

How can you not miss someone like Jeff? Hope you and yours are doing well. That ski video of Jeff was taken 1 day before my birthday! All my/our best.

To the Webber family our condolences from the Tuhaye Savage's. We are saddened to learn of Jeff's passing, and pray strength, courage, understanding and love for all Jeff's family and friends.

My wife (Della) and I met in Park City and shared two meals with Jeff and then struck a bond thru our troubled son Luke, whom Jeff took a liking to. Neither one of them knew a stranger! As time passed, Jeff and my relationship and communications was long distance; but, stayed in-touch over Real Estate (the good bad and ugly).

Having lost loved ones we know it hurts. And, while I didn't get to know Jeff nearly as well as I would of liked to, I'm sad and feel a loss of a friend.

Again, our sincerest of condolences and we will donate in Jeff's name to the www.CONNECTsummitcounty.org Jeff would of liked that.

Respectfully,
Tom and Della Savage

Dear Nicole and Robert

My heart goes out to both of you
Your father's passing is a great shock and loss. I'm so sorry!

I too lost my father at age 21, all the great memories sustain me, I miss him daily and realize as you will in time, that I did more with my father is a short time than most do in a lifetime. Both of you are blessed to be able to say that as well. He will always be with you in spirit. His laugh was infectious and his humor was hard to match.

You are loved by many and have much support. Always remember that you brought the greatest joy to your father and he adored you. He has left a great legacy behind especially in both of you.

We met back in 2007 in NYC you were traveling to MIT with your father. He was beaming with joy sharing stories of your travels and introducing both of you to me. I loved your father very much and will miss him. He touched many lives and his great work lives on. May he Rest In Peace ❤

Much Love,

Annie Jacoby

Nicole and Robert:

Your dad was so unbelievably proud of you two, and knew you would grow up to pursue your passions and dreams as he did his. Know that your family and friends are here to support and love you.

There's a strange, spiritual change
in the heart of a child who's lost;
for when one's dad dies,
it's a loss immeasurable,
yet measured in the beat of your heart,
a heart he helped create.
His birthday will always be a special day
(My dad's was yesterday, and I cried).
I wrote this, thinking about you,
as I was missing my dad, too.

I'm so sorry you've had to deal with such a shock.
Much love,
JJ
