On November 23, 2017, Candice Lau Kunze, 30, along with her mother, Jeanett Lau Gattis, 58, and the love of her life, Andrew E. Buthorn, 36, were tragically taken from this world. She will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 13028 Harrowgate Road, Chester, VA 23831 at 11:30 a.m. on December 2. To all of Candy's family & friends, Words cannot express our profound grief over such a tragic event. I had the pleasure of working with Candy, as one of my PT students at Radford U. Candy was a joyful soul, engaging student, and compassionate human being. I loved watching her interact with our young clients in the therapy lab. She really had a heart for kids. She will be fondly remembered by so many whose lives she has touched. May God be with you all during this difficult time as we pray for your peace and healing. Matthew 28:20.

Candy, to know you was to fall in love with you. You will always be my hero and sister wife. We planned on spending our lives in friendship together and now I will keep you with me in my heart and memories forever. I am thankful for the adventures we enjoyed, yet honored more by the tears we shared, hearts shuddering in emotional embraces. You gifted me with raw glimpses of your soul, moreso than with your gorgeous mega-watt smile and rooster laugh. Please look after my girls, they loved you fiercely and are hurting without you. For now, I will look forward to our next rendezvous in Heaven. Peace and love, baby girl!
