I looked for Myrna Lamb's name online and found this. I was her student at RISD in 1974. I still have a figure drawing that she ran across the room to stop me from doing more. She was passionate, funny and caring. Some teachers t RISD wee cold and pretentious, she inspired us with love and humor.
I've never forgotten her example as I lived my life as an artist and teacher

Your Mom was my friend and adviser for 31 years. It is just now after all this time that I can bring myself to write of her. The last few days of her life she called me and said she was consulting with more medical experts and her condition had turned extreme.
Mere words cannot express to you how she affected and guided my life, my children, births, deaths, jobs, and finally her own passing. Most people chat on about those who has passed ... of your mom I can say this...she was a first class, elegant, magnificent soul...the earth is a sad place that has lost her, but a star shines very bright wherever she is. - Linda Ricci and Family

I longed for Saturday afternoons to listen to your Mom, had all my friends over for appetizers and cocktails ready for the five o'clock hour. Some days we just listened and some days we had the courage to call. We miss her so much. Our prayers are with you.

My condolences to Myrna's daughters on your Mom's passing.
I talked to your Mom in the 90's, she was very direct, and she didn't sugarcoat things, I was shocked at her abruptness but grateful for the truth, which I already knew. Wasting time in an unsatisfactory relationship instead of being in a great relationship. We never know when are time on Earth will end. We all loose our way in life at some point. Losing a parent for me, my mother who had advanced Alzheimer's, unable to speak, walk, watching her suffering while I couldn't do anything to ease her pain, I'm glad that I told her that I loved her, and any unresolved issues that we had were forgiven. I'm sorry about your loss, I talked to your Mom 6 months ago, she had a lot of things planned since moving, she helped a lot of people, and was a mover and shaker for women, she helped people who were stuck to move forward, and to not give up in addition to being funny, and entertaining at the same time.

The photo you have posted here is the Myrna I remember from my childhood. She was my art teacher for many years and I remember her warmth and humor and sweet voice. She was generous and kind, and encouraged my creativity in a way no other teacher ever did, before or since. I moved back to Rhode Island recently and learned that this was the same Myrna I once knew, and had always remembered with great fondness. I went to see her to thank her for being an amazing teacher to this shy child. She was so gracious and asked me what I grew up to become. When I told her I am an artist she clapped her hands with joy and hugged me. She came to a show I was in a few weeks after that, just this past December, and we promised to get together again when the weather warmed up. I am so saddened by news of her passing, but still feel her presence. I know that kind of energy will never be lost in this universe, but will only make it more beautiful. Thank you again Miss Myrna. I'll do my best to make you proud.

I want to tell Myrna's family how sorry I am to hear of the loss of such a bright light like Myrna. I came to Rhode Island from New Jersey and started listening to her on the radio there. When I moved to Rhode Island and found that this was her state, I was thrilled. She always had a warm heart, an infectious laugh, and seemed genuinely interested in helping people even when they were difficult! I learned so much from Myrna about life and astrology, her positive voice will continue to guide me.

I had the pleasure of meeting Myrna ironically Miriam Hospital. I was there for 8 days, Myrna came in full of life and knew something was seriously wrong. However, she did not want her family to be concerned or worried, she had shrugged it off. The Oncologist had her moved from my room to a special unit. I enjoyed her company for that short time and can see what a loss she is too your whole family. I can believe that she is watching and saying don't worry everything will be fine.
God Bless all of you and i am personally glad to have met her and listen to her.
With my sincere sympathy, Joan

I only "knew" Myrna through WPRO and then occasionally. Her voice, optimism, and candor were captivating. So it was with great surprise that I learned of her passing. Return dear spirit to the universe from which you graced us with your presence for a time.

My condolences to the family on Myrnas' untimely passing. I was blessed to have graduated with Myrna from Classical High School. She was then described as "a girl to whom was given so much of earth--so much of heaven." Throughout her life her spiritual attributes guided her in all her selfless acts of kindness and compassion. We have lost an incredible individual.

To Ariela, Nadia and all of Myrna's family and friends, I offer my deepest and heartfelt sympathy. Myrna was a life force, a star amongst stars. She loved life and lived it to it's fullest. She was truly a wonderful teacher and friend and though I have not seen her or Bob since RISD college days, I will always remember them both and am grateful they both passed through my life.
