Brian Smith Obituary

Brian Keith Smith
December 31, 1960 - January 18, 2021
Monticello, NY
Brian Keith Smith was born December 31, 1960 to Virginia Smith and the late Andrew Doc Smith in Monticello, NY. Brian is the second of eight children born to this union. He passed away on January 18, 2021.
Brian attended the Monticello Central School District and received his HS Diploma from Sullivan County BOCES. He was employed with ARC, Johnston Toyota & Kutsher's Country Club before they closed. Brian always enjoyed his employment and the people he worked with. He was a humble person and always had a smile on his face. He took pride in working, being able to make his own decisions and be independent. He lived life on his own terms and did not want anyone to tell him what to do. He was very close to his maternal grandfather, James P. Allen, who taught him how to be the strong, independent and respectful man that he was. Brian loved going to church and learned the Bible from his grandfather; and was also fond of WWF Wrestling and Marvel comics.
Brian leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Virginia Smith; siblings: Gloria Pat (Paul) Sledge of Bayminette, AL, Andrew (Mattie) Smith of Columbus, GA, Doreen and Darlene Smith, both of Monticello, NY, Gloria Smith of Liberty, NY, Michael Smith of Port Jervis, NY, Alan (Nicole Smith) of Kiamesha Lake, NY, Kerry Smith of Middletown, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew Smith, and his maternal and paternal grandparents, James and Sallie Allen and Varnel and Emma Smith.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 13 at the Bethlehem Temple Church, 93 Fairground Road in Monticello. Due to the current health crisis, social distancing guidelines must be met - a limited number of people at one time will be allowed in the church, and facemasks are required. Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
