Irene Mae Boe of Huguenot, NY died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.
She was born May 14, 1931 in Alberta, Canada, the daughter of the late Morgan Steele and the late Vera Margaretts Steele.
Irene was married to John Boe, Jr. on May 5, 1972 in Staten Island, NY and they were happily married until his passing on October 22, 2018.
Irene was the owner and secretary of Captain John's Seafood Market in Port Jervis for 15 years. She was also a member of the Red Hatters society.
A family statement read: " Irene was loved by family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid animal lover and donated to many charities to help those less fortunate. She was a talented artist, and well traveled. She was the life of the party, and will be missed by everyone."
Surviving are her daughter, Susan Ramos of Huguenot, NY; her son, William and his wife, Sharon Colley of Cuddebackville, NY; her five grandchildren: Kenneth Jones, Kailyn Tibby and her husband, Jonathan, William Colley Jr. and his wife, Sarah, Sean Colley and his wife, Kristin, Thomas Hayes and his wife, Shannon; and three great-grandchildren: Caleb Jones, Gianna Tibby, Jacob Jones. Irene was predeceased by her brother, James "Jim" Steele and her granddaughter, Dawn Cataneo.
Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA. A burial of ashes, with her husband John, will take place in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
