On Sunday, March 14, 2021, Frank N. Simone passed away peacefully at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen, NY. He was 90 years old.
The son of Michael N. (d.) and Marie (nee Ippolito) (d.) Simone, Frank was born on May 23, 1930 in Jersey City, NJ. He was a retired laborer, and lived in Jersey City for most of his life, relocating to Orange County, NY six years ago to be closer to his nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his three brothers: James (Ellen) Simone, Louis (Carmella) Simone, Paul Simone and his sister, Marcha Mae (David Buril) Baker.
Survivors include his nephew and caregiver, David Baker and his wife, Helen of Monroe, NY; nephew, Michael Baker and his partner, Marybeth Berndt of Vernon NJ; nephew, Joseph Baker and wife, Suzanne of Greenwood Lake, NY; nephews, James Simone and wife Nancy of Cape Coral, FL, Nicholas Simone and wife, Patricia of Parlin, NJ, Frank Simone and wife, Mildred of St. Augustine, FL; niece, Maryann Schwartz and husband, Jeff of Somerset, NJ, nephew, Michael Simone of Neptune City, NJ; and many grandnieces and nephews.
Those who knew Frank will remember his wide smile, his energy, how much he enjoyed his morning walks for coffee and the newspaper, watching football with his nephews, and seeing all his grandnieces and grandnephews at family events.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 22 at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 3545 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ.
The Baker Family would like to thank Dr. John McDermott and staff at Horizon Family Medical Group, the Floor One nurses at St. Anthony's Community Hospital and staff of Mount Alverno Center, all located in Warwick, NY, for making Frank's transition to his new home in New York six years ago as seamless as possible with their kindness, care, compassion and boundless empathy. A special thank you goes to nurses and staff of the Forest Wing at Valley View for their endless kindness and professionalism while making this past year more bearable for Frank and his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
